The Conservation Center
The conservation services are closed from 1 January to 31 July 2025 due to the renewing work of the museum's permanent exhibitions.
The Conservation Center is a national institution, specializing in the following:
- conservation of old and new precious textile artefacts
- providing advice and guidance concerning conservation and preservation
- consultancy in the field of conservation
- lectures and courses on conservation
- design of display structures and storage facilities for textiles
The Conservation Center serves private clients, museums and various organisations alike. The conservators are pleased to give advice and guidance on the care and preservation of objects.
To assess the need for conservation an object can be examined either in situ or at The Conservation Center. A written estimate of the cost of conservation is always given. This is based on examination of the object followed by indication of the number of hours of work required and the cost of materials.
