Children’s Birthday Workshop – Celebrate at the Museum!

Looking for a unique and unforgettable way to celebrate your child’s birthday? Host the party at the Craft Museum of Finland.

Our birthday workshops are perfect for children aged 6–12 and work best for groups of up to 13 participants. At least one responsible adult must accompany the group throughout the event. Other adults are welcome to relax and explore the exhibitions while the party takes place.

Food & Drinks:
You’ll take care of the birthday treats. We can provide dishes if agreed in advance, or you can bring your own disposables. Please note: due to sensitive fire alarms, real candles cannot be lit on cakes. We recommend bringing lidded containers for any leftovers. A separate table with a tablecloth will be set up for your treats, and the birthday child and accompanying adult can arrive about 30 minutes early to arrange everything.

How the Party Flows:
  - The instructor greets guests at the museum info desk together with the birthday child.
  - Coats go in the cloakroom, and gifts are collected (but opened later at home).
  - We start with a fun activity in the lobby gallery, so latecomers can join easily.
  - Then, we explore the permanent exhibitions with the instructor – spotting animal figures and discovering how they connect to crafts!
  - After a couple of quick tasks, we head upstairs to the open workshop space for treats.
  - Snack time lasts 20–30 minutes, followed by a 45-minute craft workshop based on your chosen theme.
  - Finally, we return to the lobby to meet parents – and take a group photo as a keepsake!

  - Decorating fabric tote bags with textile markers
  - Sewing small felt soft toys
  - Making finger puppets with sewing and gluing
  - Folding and decorating comic booklets
  - Decorating cardboard masks with mixed techniques
  - Creating cardboard crowns with mixed techniques
  - Crafting stick figures – maybe even superheroes!
