The exhibition celebrating the extensive life's work of fashion artist Jukka Rintala is a tribute to the artist whose imprint has been visible over the decades in stunning unique costumes, industrial collections and paintings. The exhibition at the Craft Museum of Finland also celebrates the skilled seamstresses who have carried out the demanding patterns and sewing work. 

A strong line and, on the other hand, lightness are characteristic features of Jukka Rintala's work. His unique dresses are works of art, where the combination of different materials creates unique atmospheres.

Sirelius published the national costume model of a woman from Karelian Kaukola in the booklet "Suomen kansallispukuja", and its popularity has been steadfast ever since.

Hanneriina Moisseinen has been using stitching and other craft techniques in her work for a couple of decades. The exhibition includes selections from Moisseinen’s oldest production as well as brand new, previously unpublished works. A special feature of the exhibition is the theme of handicrafts, which connects the graphic works and is reflected in the choice of materials and techniques as well as in the topics of the works.

Basket weaving is one of the oldest craft techniques. It has evolved from the need to store, transport and carry goods and materials. The art and techniques of basket weaving are very similar worldwide, they have just always been adapted to local materials and needs.

Timo Kiiveri came to Jyväskylä from Heinola in the 90s to study. At the time, jobs were hard to find.

The popularity of Jyväskylä's English-language programmes continues to be strong.
